Mild-mannered Norbit (Eddie Murphy) has always had it rough, since the day he was left abandoned at a combination Chinese restaurant and orphanage. Cost of production: $69 million Revenue made: $159 million (successful box office movie) Soooo: They are absolutely lying in these reviews. Norbit is a hilarious movie and the fat jokes don't mean that Eddie Murphy hates fat people. Comedy can be offensive, only if you are immature and insecure about your own reality . I do not feel that the movie is a fat shaming movie. In fact, it made big women look dominant, which in 2007 may have been unrealistic. On the contrary, in 2025, big people have found fame and brought light to fat shaming and being dominant amd confident in your appearance. That means that Eddie Murphy has had more respect for their condition than we Americans have. He literally portrayed himself loving a big women and she lives life like she's a super model and he's a roach. Respustia was literally the big dog of the whole movie. I would still suggest watching this movie in 2025.

I kind of fell asleep. Look, this thing is Dumb and Dumber dumb. But it also has something a lot of comedies no longer have - scenes that make you bust out laughing. Yeah it isn't Shakespeare, yeah it is offensive, but it IS sporadically funny as heck.
