Hélène (Carole Bouquet) is a modern working woman who has sacrificed everything for her career. Now middle-aged and lonely, she travels to the northeast region of Argentina to adopt a baby. Once there, she is struck by the abject poverty that devastates the area and soon meets, by chance, Juana (Aymará Rovera), a local mother, whose destitution makes providing for her son a nearly impossible task. To their surprise, these two very different women soon develop a powerful and crucial bond.

10/24/2008 The movie seems very realistic but is it? I liked this a lot, characters are quite cool, they do not show a lot of emotions and the feeling in the movie is very sad from the beginning. The movie gives a lot to think about especially to people who are thinking about adopting a child.
