Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times This jingoistic war-at-sea movie, redeemed by neither narrative momentum nor fully formed characters, will test the patience of the most ardent military fanatic. Jul 17, 2015 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times For American viewers unfamiliar with the incident, watching the film by Kim Hak-soon is like being an uninvited guest at a national memorial service. Jul 16, 2015 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International An impressive, highly moving-if overlong-achievement. Jul 16, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I was not expecting this at all. Very well done. Not easy to watch with subtitles and some over acting. This is a sadly forgotten event and I applaud Kim Hak-soon for getting this move made and the story told Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member an account of an "incident" between N.Korea and S.Korea. Very sad, esp. when we know it is based on real events. Well done, in memory of the fallen soldiers. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member once again, a movie thats subject matter i really care less about yet still blows me away more then 80% of US films. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member In terms of the war scene, it's quite a big scale. The descriptive sections are handling in a good way. Well, big South Korea heroism is of course a main line. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Northern Limit Line is a powerful and gripping war picture. It boasts some solid performances, almost like Top Gun but without the 80's machismo. The result is a bloody and tense showdown against an attack from the North Korean Navy, and ultimately it makes you emotional the cheapest but easiest way. Develop characters, show them with their family members, and then show them getting shot to hell. Have a few characters shout out very preachy themes such as: "Fucking commies" or "You sons of bitches", to really showcase how evil the communists are. The lack of development for the villains really shows, but ultimately its a well acted if emotionally manipulative film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing. Great fight scenes. Awespiring. Just interesting in cultural war. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
