Ken Hanke Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC) The more sober-minded work, and the creepier film, thanks in large measure to Paul Birch's performance as the gent who is 'not of this Earth.' Rated: 4/5 Jul 7, 2011 Full Review John Beifuss Commercial Appeal (Memphis, TN) Could be the most effective of Corman's non-comic pre-Poe films... Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 28, 2011 Full Review Sean Axmaker Parallax View Somehow Corman makes it all work, even the purely expositional dialogue scenes. Jan 18, 2011 Full Review Read all reviews

Matthew D What are you reading this for? Go see the movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/10/21 Full Review kevin w Paul Birch as the alien is the topper in this creepy spookfest, on the lookout for human blood as his creepy alien race is dying. Birch's performance is dead-on "the too friendly drunk uncle at the family gathering" --- w/o the laughs. It's better actually than it looks with squirmy chills throughout. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review william k Although the plot is quite absurd, this sci-fi-horror quickie is made with some originality and good instinct for cinematic scenes; it also has a nice, memorable open ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One of Roger Corman's many late fifties sci-fi drive in pieces, this film's plot is one of the "aliens need our bodily fluids" type movies that actually does it pretty uniquely. The dialogue is laughable and the cheapness pours out of every frame, but it's not quite as ludicrously enjoyable as Attack of the Crab Monsters. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Is it a good movie? Not necessarily, but it's not as poorly done like some of Corman's other work. The characters hold up on their own, and can be taken seriously. The plot is interesting enough, and flows smoothly. The last 10-minutes go into more goofy-territory, but it ends the film with some fun moments. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A economical way of showing an alien is by just making an actor roll his eyes up, just like in this movie. Alien vampire done Roger Corman style. An entertaining flick, low budget and doesn't really use that much special effects. A lot of deaths but not a lot of blood. Recommended!
