Paul Birch

Paul Birch was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Birch's earliest roles were in film, including the Audie Murphy western "Ride Clear of Diablo" (1954), "Cattle Queen of Montana" (1954) and the western "Apache Woman" (1955) with Lloyd Bridges. He also appeared in "Five Guns West" (1955) with John Lund, the adaptation "Man Without a Star" (1955) with Kirk Douglas and the James Dean drama "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955). He kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in "The Day the World Ended" (1956), the Glenn Ford western "The Fastest Gun Alive" (1956) and the Maureen O'Hara comedy "Everything But the Truth" (1956). He also appeared in the western "A Gun For a Coward" (1957) with Fred MacMurray. In the latter part of his career, he continued to act in "The World Was His Jury" (1958), the Audie Murphy adventure "The Gun Runners" (1958) and "Pay or Die" (1960). He also appeared in "Portrait in Black" (1960) with Lana Turner and "The Dark at the Top of the Stairs" (1960) with Robert Preston. Birch more recently acted in "Welcome to Hard Times" (1967). Birch passed away in May 1969 at the age of 57.
