As soon as the hostage situation begins, it goes into Dog Day Afternoon mode. The atmosphere becomes tense. The pediatric oncology ward feels hellishly claustrophobic. And the uncertainty of which way this whole thing is gonna go truly gets to you. Go to Full Review

As a PSA, Nothing to Lose isn’t so unaccomplished, but as a movie, Nothing to Lose is misbalanced and not very compelling. Go to Full Review

It’s 45 minutes of badly written, maudlin family drama and 45 minutes of badly written, ridiculous thriller. The two cohere for a deeply unbelievable payoff that doesn’t ring true and feels too flagrantly manipulative to be taken seriously. Go to Full Review

Tiffany W @BatGirl1987 19h This gave me John Q vibes. I wouldve liked to see the breakup/separation of the parents play out and also wouldve liked to see what time of punishment they got in the end. Other than that this was a great, deep, passionate movie. Just goes to show what levels people will go to to protect their kids. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch 2d Nothing to Lose is an emotional foreign drama that tells the story of a mother willing to risk everything to save her child. When her child is dying of cancer and hope begins to fade, she takes desperate measures that force everyone around her to make impossible decisions. The film does a great job showing the unconditional love a parent has for their child, even when emotions push them to the breaking point. While I didn’t always agree with every decision the characters made, I understood the desperation behind them. The performances are heartfelt, and the emotional moments land well throughout the story. My biggest complaint is the English dubbing, which can be distracting since the dialogue doesn’t always match the actors’ lip movements. However, once I became invested in the story, it was easier to overlook. Overall, Nothing to Lose is a touching and suspenseful drama about love, sacrifice, and family. It’s definitely worth watching if you enjoy emotional foreign films See more Read all reviews
