We do do dysfunctional families well. We do know how to cringe at the suburbia from which most of us have sprung... Laughs, though? The stockings are a little light on there, I’m afraid. Go to Full Review

The humour is snappy and accumulative, but also genuine. Go to Full Review

Before the pair [Jenna Owen and Vic Zerbst] were satirising the PR industry astutely and amusingly, they tackled dysfunctional families come the merriest time on the calendar, with the same winning results. Go to Full Review

John C Dec 20 As an Australian this is embarrassing. It's not funny and it's not well acted. For non Australians please don't see this movie. Find another. Far better exist. See more Gabe C Dec 17 Loved it! Very much in the style of The Castle and Muriel’s Wedding but with that Xmas spin. Although over-the-top, it’s still really relatable for Australian families at Christmas. From my reading of the reviews, this movie was shown in the states on CBS (possibly dubbed over/edited for the US audience). Unfortunately, the movie didn’t seem to resonate with Americans. But so what? It wasn’t made for them. It’s a classic Stan (Au streaming service) Xmas movie. See more Dec 15 Perhaps funnier for an Australian audience. That's all I liked it a little bit at best. Mildly engaging. Families have their struggles maybe I laugh just a little bit. Not too crazy about the ending. Not for little ones. Perhaps the cast and crew will get it a little better next time if they're aiming for an American audience? See more Bill O Dec 15 About as fun as a colonoscopy and twice the time to endure. See more Jeanne W 12/01/2024 Worst movie ever. I didn't find anything humorous about it. I kept with it thinking it would get better but it didn't. Never watching again. See more Stephanie S 11/24/2024 This was a very annoying movie. Partway through, we just had to change channels to something else. What a bunch of selfish, horrible people. The only thing that made me want to watch was my curiosity of an Australian Christmas. Unfortunately, they acted too much like a bunch of obnoxious Americans. See more Read all reviews
