Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times 11/17/2014
Darling's documentary is garden-variety filmmaking, but it does an effective job in illustrating how years of fiscal crises have forced academia and industry to forge alliances that once would have been considered unlikely. Go to Full Review
Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times 11/13/2014
The director, Todd Darling, is so busy fist-pumping for urban farming - and so dazzled by his granola heroes - that naysayers must be demeaned and denigrated. Go to Full Review
Ernest Hardy Village Voice 11/11/2014
It illustrates the staggering extent to which corporate interests dictate policy and shape scientific research (who it is for, where it is applied). Go to Full Review

Don't pay attention to the NY Times review. They didn't care for Occupy Wall Street either--the action itself, not any film. Go to Full Review

11/22/2014 200 protesting "farmers" occupy land in the East Bay that by charter was placed in the public trust so they can feed the disadvantaged neighborhood that has precious few food stores but plenty of liquor stores. By occupying this parcel, they forestall UC Berkeley's plan to sell the land to developers. They are also interrupting university scientists' research for Monsanto. This movie is well-paced with dramatic developments and reversals, as well as articulate protestors with a lot of heart. Excellent film. I highly recommend it. See more 11/11/2014 A victory for the good guys! a dramatic story of a band of farmers who protect the last acres of farmland in an urban landscape. See more 11/10/2014 at last! a feel good documentary that also deals with real stuff. anyone who cares about food and thinks that we are powerfless should see this and take hope. Highly recommended! See more 11/10/2014 We loved this film...suspenseful, thoughtful, fun, funny at times, very serious at times...and raises important issues about the role of public universities...and the increasing role that large corporations are playing in universities. A real-life David and Goliath story...and the "Davids" are all so delightful I wanted to invite them over for dinner so I could get to know them better! A must-see movie for anyone with a sense of humor who cares about our world. See more Read all reviews
