Penelope Houston The Spectator It is primarily a vehicle for its actors. Christopher Plummer, no favourite of mine in the past, delivers his lines with formidable intelligence and judgment. Jul 12, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Well-done adaptation of Sophocles’s brilliant tragedy. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to track down. I had to watch it on YouTube with poor quality picture and French subtitles that couldn’t be turned off. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/20 Full Review Audience Member Some pretty ridiculous acting carries it along, by making it funny, but Oedipus is a failure on pretty much every level. As a comedy, it is downright hilarious, but as a serious movie it bombs pretty hard. The acting is so bad it's funny, the set design is awful (In fact, the movie never changes sets, it's on the same set for the entire film), the directing is awkward, and who the hell was the costume designer? I sincerely doubt everyone in Ancient Greece wore tuxedos and ascots. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
