Alison S David Chase won an Emmy for his writing in this 1980 made for TV drama about a teenager who returned to Minnesota to try to return to ordinary life after having worked as a prostitute in New York City. What is seared into my memory is the gritty authentic portrayal by Mare Winningham. I had never encountered such forceful and completely natural acting save for Glenda Jackson playing Charlotte Corday in the Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat, as Performed by the Inmates of Clarendon. Both deeply troubling, both completely unforgettable. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/24 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
