This sequel to "A Christmas Story" follows a teenage Ralphie Parker (Jerry O'Connell) over summer break as he seeks gainful employment and struggles to survive a particularly harrowing Parker family road trip. Ralph's father (James Sikking) and mother (Dorothy Lyman) dish out life lessons galore as they lead Ralphie and his younger brother on the long drive to Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss, the shabby lakeside resort where they intend to spend their summer vacation.

Jeff Jarvis People Magazine The cast is fine, but the writing is filled with clichés and lazy, used observations. Does [Jean] Shepherd really think he is the first writer to make gags about pink flamingos in front yards? Rated: D Sep 30, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Matthew D Don't expect it to be like A Christmas Story. Even though all characters have the same names (Ralphie, Randy, Flick, Schwartz) I think of them as completely different characters because it's so different from their previous movie. It's not the best movie, but it makes me laugh and that's all I really care about. From them trying to find their lost dog Fuzzhead, to the craziness of trying to get to their vacation destination, it's worth a watch. You can find it on YouTube for free. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/08/24 Full Review Steve D Until this last year THIS was the only effective sequel in the series. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/02/23 Full Review dan m Talk about nostalgia with this one, man... I haven't seen this since I was a little kid in Hawaii when this was on the Disney Channel. It's not a well known movie compared to its predecessor A Christmas Story. I enjoyed this one much more than that one actually. Classic family road trip story. There should be a drinking game everytime the dad says "for crying out loud" hahaha Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A great movie for anyone who loves A Christmas Story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member 95% "Fuzzhead!...Fuzzhead!Fuzzhead!Fuzzhead!"-Mom (Dorothy Lyman) Prehapes the sequel to A CHRISTMAS STORY. And like A CHRISTMAS STORY it has a deep nostalgic feeling. It's basically a family freindly, NATIONAL LAMPOON'S VACATION. "I want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!"-Randy (Jason Clarke Adams) Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a really fun sequel to A Christmas Story featuring the return of Jean Shepherd as the narrator. It's a road trip movie with a new cast that, surprisingly, is very believable as being the same family from the old one. It's just mishap after amusing mishap, as these types of movies tend to be, but just like A Christmas Story tapped into those childhood Christmas experiences, there's something about this that is eerily familiar. Check it out if you ever get the chance. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Read all reviews
