SkyRo P "Once Bitten" is a film featuring Jim Carrey from 1985, showcasing his early comedic talents. It’s interesting to see the corniness and quirky antics that he brought to the screen even back then, which laid the groundwork for his later, more developed performances. However, the film itself is undeniably cheesy, with dialogue that often feels over-the-top and somewhat disjointed. The script seems to miss the mark in several areas, making it difficult to fully engage with the story. The sheer level of corniness can be overwhelming, leaving viewers struggling to connect with what’s happening on screen. The plot revolves around a female vampire who must bite the inner thigh of a virgin to sustain her life. While this premise may have seemed fitting for the 80s, it doesn't translate well to modern sensibilities. The idea of a centuries-old woman preying on a teenage boy feels particularly uncomfortable now, making certain scenes off-putting. Overall, while "Once Bitten" offers a nostalgic glimpse into Jim Carrey's early career, it doesn't hold up well by today’s standards, and the humor often feels outdated and problematic. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/13/25 Full Review Erik B Very cheesy, as you might expect from a 1985 movie. Jim Carrey doesn't really do much to differentiate himself in this role, unlike Earth Girls are Easy, where you can really see his style shine through. Fun, but ultimately not worth multiple watches. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/24 Full Review Tim M Once Bitten, viewers will want to shy away from this flaccid vampire comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Guy P Great movie to watch. Jim Carrey was funny Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review Eddie M I thought it was pretty funny..was just cool to see Jim Carrey being himself so early on in his career.
