Rated 1/5 Stars •  Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member "Once More with Feeling" tells the story of the aging Dr. Frank Gregorio (Chazz Palminteri), a successful psychiatrist who has been married for forty years to his beautiful wife Angelina (Maria Tucci), and has two lovely daughters. Dr. Frank had always dreamed about becoming a singer but choose to follow the path his parents wanted, and became a successful doctor instead. With his daughter's wedding coming up he starts practicing to sing at the reception. One night, he and his wife meet Lydia (Linda Fiorentino) in a karaoke bar. Lydia takes an instant liking to Frank, enjoys his singing, and when Frank comes back to the bar to practice without his wife, the two forge a friendship that may not be as innocent as it appears. Simultaneously, Frank's eldest daughter Lana (Drea DeMatteo) is trying desperately to keep up with the demands of her chaotic family life. Her daughter Chloe is extremely precocious and Lana's husband is absent both physically and emotionally. She becomes obsessed that she might be losing her sex appeal and considers plastic surgery and having an affair with a hot and sexy police officer in hopes of boosting her self-esteem. Observation: Lana, like her father, is trying desperately to grasp at something she feels has been lost and it appears that they are both being tempted by people outside their marriages, people whose appreciation of them seem to aid in their desire to regain something that's been lost in their lives. (I guess this is what one means when they refer to midlife crises.) Rated 3.5/5 Stars •  Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Fairly mediocre and disappointing, I had higher expectations for this film. The plot was all over the place the director seemed unsure if he was directing a drama or a comedy. It attempts to be humorous but fails the characters unrelatable and uninteresting. Drea de Matteo is capable of much superior roles I don't know why she took on this project her character was extremely annoying and somewhat selfish. It appears as if the problem is the script it's just considerably weak in it's portrayal of the characters and the situations they find themselves in.
