Common Sense Media Editors Common Sense Media Director Yûichi Fukuda does a wonderful job of not merely revising the fairy tales, but leading us to rethink the perspectives from which these characters can be seen. Rated: 3/5 Sep 22, 2023 Full Review John Serba Decider These people barely move a muscle as they explain and explain and explain and explain things in the most excruciatingly dull manner possible. Sep 18, 2023 Full Review Adrian Ruiz But Why Tho? A Geek Community Once Upon a Crime successfully reinvigorates the timeless story of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood by blending humor, campiness, and a murder mystery. Rated: 8/10 Sep 15, 2023 Full Review Lori C. Ready Steady Cut Despite being too long, Once Upon a Crime is quite an entertaining fairytale parody. There are several chuckle-worthy moments, especially with Red Riding Hood as a stand-in for the viewer asking all the right questions. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 14, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Nachayla A Way to make a victim bullied all her life a “murderer” for defending herself against a man known for assaulting the women in the kingdom. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/25 Full Review Wendy L This is so stupid. Cinderella gets punished for defending herself successfully from a man trying to force her into something she doesn't want (in a kingdom that values beauty above all else). She had every the right too defend herself even if it was her beauty (as if it was her virtue) if meant to the guy's death. This movie basically saying grape is okay. Omg this in infuriating, the maid even gets the show as she has being attacked by the same guy for the same reason as Cinderella but difference is she defended herself. No this movie just wrong. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/17/25 Full Review Aluna U Once Upon a Crime creatively blends classic fairy tales like Cinderella and Red Riding Hood into a unique mystery with unexpected twists. While the reinterpretation may surprise fans of the original stories, the plot remains engaging, unpredictable, and well-acted. It's a light yet intriguing watch for fans of fantasy-mystery hybrids.
