MFB Critics Monthly Film Bulletin Norman Wisdom's early television work raised the hope that he might prove an outstanding clown... His handling in this film, however, is almost fatal to his individual gifts. Feb 7, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Enjoyable mischief from Norman Wisdom who plays the 'fool' perfectly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Norman Wisdom is top class again in this film, alas the rest of the cast let the film down. The plot is simple, but it's a nice story and not complicated and over the top. Norman acts like one of the children, and makes you laugh throughout the film. If you saw this on TV, you would be happy to waste an hour and a half, but just don't expect something original. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Norman Wisdom's second starring vehicle finds him in a sentimental slice of slapstick as a grown-up orphan who still works in his orphanage alongside Thora Hird. He makes a foolish promise to buy one of the children an expensive toy and the orphanage is threatened with closure so this is basically about resolving those two problems. Not as much fun as his Edward Chapman/Jerry Desmonde films (neither appear here) but there's the novelty interest of a young William Russell as the romantic male lead opposite Joan Rice. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member sad about the orphanage board wants to close the orphanage to build a factory on the site and funny when they stop them from closing it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member one of my favourite Norman Wisdom films Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This film has me both in stiches and weeping like a baby. Sir Norman Rocks!! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
