Frances H Flat and uninteresting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/23/12 Full Review Audience Member If you love Capote's Christmas stories, then you might also love this movie. It takes Sook five minutes of screen time to charge the rest of the movie with all the glittering magic of the love between her and little Buddy, concern for the other characters and tension over Buddy's fate. Henry Winkler is surprisingly restrained and not annoying, except as is true to the character. The movie is much more Capote then Hallmark (I won't usually even consider Hallmark movies.) Very underrated. A rare, complex Christmas movie, uplifting but also bittersweet. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I really tried to like this movie. What's not to like about Henry Winkler and Katharine Hepburn? Sadly, I just could not get into it. The production is poor and the movie as a whole is pretty hokey. Definitely not about to become one of my holiday traditions. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member One Christmas is an autobiographical story of Truman Capote's life. This film is not for the weak of heart. It tugs at your heart-strings. Even though, it is a heartfelt christmas film, I didn't enjoy it. The characters weren't intriguing, although, I felt the acting was respectable. I think most people would enjoy the book more than the film and if you haven't read the book, I suggest it. I believe it would be better the this. www.what-to-watch.com Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member it was alright...i missed parts of it...however i really only wanted to see katharine. for a small role she was still great (but looking a bit frail :( ) didn't turn out to be that bad though. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a strong Christmas feel to this one, but it does have a good ending, and is an example of why i wish Henry Winkler would do more movies.
