Audience Member This lively and engaging documentary, directed by Rachel Shuman, takes place in October 2008, as the world was reeling from the Great Recession and America was on the cusp of the Barack Obama and John McCain Presidential Election. Just 56 mins. in length, WFMU radio host Clay Pigeon takes to the streets of NYC to interview New Yorkers about their lives and current events, as well as an underlying theme of the doc, that of the gentrification of the city. The interviews are brief, well edited, and very engaging. There's also colorful and haunting scenes of NYC parades, parks, and ceremonies where the cinematography is spectacular. Overall, I can highly recommend this film which I found at my local library. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

May 8, 2018 Full Review Ruth Kinane Entertainment Weekly It's Pigeon's sincere approach here and throughout the documentary that holds the audience's attention. His dulcet tone and affable manner allow him to get close to people, gain their trust, and encourage their openness.
