This biographical drama, based on the life of Herbert Biberman (Jeff Goldblum), follows the filmmaker as he gets blacklisted along with other prominent Hollywood figures. Although his wife, Gale Sondergaard (Greta Scacchi), is a successful, Oscar-winning actress, Biberman is still singled out as a communist. Biberman is eventually jailed for refusing to answer questions about his alleged communist ties, and later decides to make a film about the plight of the worker without Hollywood funding.
