One Small Hitch should have settled on being a cute but insipid romantic comedy. By emphasizing a lead character who does nothing more than play into a wedding fantasy in hopes that a frog will turn into her prince is ultimately more tragic than comic.

I love rom-coms, even really corny, predictable, cheesy ones. My standards are pretty low when it comes to Rom-coms but this movie was just horrible. Like okay, they have a fake engagement and as soon as you think they're falling in love he starts randomly banging some other woman and even acts like he feels bad about it, but of course he keeps doing it anyway. Even after he sleeps with the woman he's fake engaged to, he doesn't cut things off with this other woman. If the aim of this movie is to make you hate this guy then they succeeded. There's nothing romantic or endearing about this storyline at all. If she married this guy he would just cheat on her.

I have been on a modern rom-com binge, including all of the critically acclaimed ones, and to say I've been disappointed is a kind way of putting it. But this one 'One Small Hitch" is a personal favorite of mine.. Aubrey Dollar who I never heard of before viewing this film is fantastic, carrying the film, and making every actor around her better. Always remember what Hitchcock said about cinema, "the first thing you do is throw out plausibility" So try this one out, it's such a sweet film, and leaves one feeling great. I have viewed it multiple times!

I really enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The characters were likeable and the "situations" kept me smiling. I found the professional reviews a bit irritating in their pomposity. Of course this movie is formulaic and of course I knew what would happen from the moment I read the plot summary. That is the whole idea of situation comedies.
