Frantic and flagrantly formulaic, this forced farce about a sham engagement sacrifices plot credibility and character motivation for stale humor and cheap setups. Go to Full Review

Funny romcom has lots of sex, profanity, some drinking. Go to Full Review
Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue 02/06/2015
The approach is broad and the story is predictable as the contrivances far outnumber the laughs. Go to Full Review

This mildly if not wildly amusing rom-com brings up one big question: If you pretend to be someone, will that identity wrap around you and claim you? Go to Full Review

One Small Hitch should have settled on being a cute but insipid romantic comedy. By emphasizing a lead character who does nothing more than play into a wedding fantasy in hopes that a frog will turn into her prince is ultimately more tragic than comic. Go to Full Review

Pat L @Pawsinthesky Dec 4 Unbearable - I actually in 2025 have no patience to watch this, AND I WANT TO! This is what I want for the directors to do! Redo it today with the new technology out there and enhance the story to make it realistic today! AI suggests: Today's technology would introduce new avenues for conflict, faster resolution of misunderstandings, and additional layers of comedic chaos in One Small Hitch, potentially making the movie more interesting and better. AND, Filmmaking since 2015 has seen significant technological improvements, enhancing quality and pacing, reducing the "weird silent moments" of earlier eras. ------ https://share.google/aimode/uFzTFh2f82Rw3QL8H See more Kathy L Sep 26 This completely exceeded my expectations. Great acting, great chemistry and really fun ensemble cast. I don’t know why it got such low reviews. See more W S Jun 9 For a first time filmmaker, did a great job from limited budget. Look at films in context of studio vs Indie See more Emma M 11/26/2024 Y’all don’t understand how much I love this movie. It is cheesy and charming in all the right ways. See more Shelly L 09/27/2023 I love rom-coms, even really corny, predictable, cheesy ones. My standards are pretty low when it comes to Rom-coms but this movie was just horrible. Like okay, they have a fake engagement and as soon as you think they're falling in love he starts randomly banging some other woman and even acts like he feels bad about it, but of course he keeps doing it anyway. Even after he sleeps with the woman he's fake engaged to, he doesn't cut things off with this other woman. If the aim of this movie is to make you hate this guy then they succeeded. There's nothing romantic or endearing about this storyline at all. If she married this guy he would just cheat on her. See more 07/18/2022 I really enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The characters were likeable and the "situations" kept me smiling. I found the professional reviews a bit irritating in their pomposity. Of course this movie is formulaic and of course I knew what would happen from the moment I read the plot summary. That is the whole idea of situation comedies. See more Read all reviews
