Audience Member "One-Trick Pony" is a great film! Amazing script, great performances & the music is just incredible. An absolute all-time favorite of mine! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Like Prince's "Purple Rain," the music here well outshines whatever other cinematic qualities the movie attempts. Overwrought, underwritten, flatly acted-but, oh man, those songs! That band! And in the end, much to the movie's benefit, the camera lingers longer on Simon-the-singer than it does on Simon-the-actor. The result is about half concert film, half mediocre melodrama, but one hell of a great soundtrack. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The one star is earned solely by Lou Reed's small role. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is sooo bad it's good! The music makes up for the lackluster plot and mediocre acting! Paul Simon and Lou Reed are the main highlights for this movie!! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a shame Paul Simon is such a bad actor. The story could have had a better development as well. The use of Paul Simon's music was over-indulgent. It was pretty interesting to watch Lou Reed in his role, though.
