Raegan B Totally unconvincing attempt at a 40s period. Bad acting. Terrible script. The film follows Reverend Conte and a group of military misfits as they journey to a South Pacific island to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of Marine units during WWII, only to encounter werewolves instead of the expected Japanese forces. Jonathan Rhys Meyers delivers a solid performance, bringing credibility to an otherwise uneven cast. However, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson's portrayal lacks depth, often reducing tense moments to unintentional comedy. Mandylor's direction struggles with pacing, failing to maintain suspense consistently throughout the film. The screenplay by Brandon Slagle is cluttered with excessive plot points that detract from the main narrative. While the premise is intriguing, the execution falls short, leading to a disjointed story. The cinematography captures the eerie atmosphere of the island well but is marred by inconsistent special effects that undermine key scenes.
