Critics Consensus

The animated portion of Osmosis is zippy and fun, but the live-action portion is lethargic.

Nell Minow Common Sense Media Mostly animated PG film has gross-out humor, violence. Rated: 3/5 Dec 26, 2010 Full Review Time Out The plot's so much old rote, and the characters have all the personality of protoplasm; but the anthropomorphising of this microcosmic metropolis is wonderfully imaginative, and the dialogue decidedly spiffy. Jan 26, 2006 Full Review Kimberley Jones Austin Chronicle The ideas are there, hints of genius, but no one ignites them. Rated: 2/5 Mar 10, 2003 Full Review Dan DiNicola The Daily Gazette (Schenectady, NY) It's imaginative, ingenious and dramatically flat. Still, it may satisfy his who will learn a lot about the nasty effects of junk food on the human body. Rated: C+ Apr 30, 2024 Full Review Korey Coleman Double Toasted It sometimes lets its imagination cut loose in a fun way. But a lot of the movie is just puns, body humor, jokes...but some of the parts, they do very well with it... Audience Member Criminally underrated. The animation is amazing, and this movie has one of the best cartoon villains I’ve ever seen. Thrax is fantastic antagonists. Great character design, voice acting, animation, etc. I do prefer the animated portions of the movie over the live-action ones, but the two tie together to make one cohesive story. The overall story is fairly basic, but the setting for the events that unfold is unique and keeps an otherwise basic plot feeling fresh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review CHARLOTTE B i cant find a movie mother suckers Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Hex x Enjoyable movie, especially for kids. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/25 Full Review shrek d i'll be puffin like diddy Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/25 Full Review Amir S A reasonable but interesting film, in a strange way it reminds me of the film "Saw 9". Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Audience Member A solidly animated film with gross-out live action humor that preaches cleanliness. I think that was the message. But it has a soft spot in my heart for a embodying a time when WB was still adventurous and their cartoon universe was thriving with talent and potential. Today WBD loathes the toons. RIP Coyote v Acme. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/08/25 Full Review Read all reviews
