05/15/2015 ok but silent shakespeare? kinda defeats the purpose See more 07/18/2011 Pretty much what you'd expect for 1922. I will say--and I didn't think about this going in--that there's a lot of reading involved in making Shakespeare into silent film. See more 03/05/2011 By far the best adaptation of Othello I've seen so far. It's rare that everything works in a movie, but every element of this movie comes together beautifully. It may also be the best silent film I've ever seen. I actually like where this movie starts better than in the original script, and I prefer the way the tension mounts more believably in this movie. This is a masterpiece. See more Read all reviews
