Audience Member Decent intro to Othello Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Painful. I like Rota as much as the next guy, but he was clearly out of his element here. Othello, perhaps more than any other Shakespeare play, rests on the skilled back and forth between two actors (Othello and Iago). This fell short by a long, long way with both skill and chemistry solely lacking. There are much better adaptations out there. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a pretty fast-paced, abridged version of the play. It's probably great for an introduction in high school. Carlo Rota does a respectable job as the Moor but he's overshadowed by a pretty poor Desdemona and Iago. Matthew Deslippe lacks the charisma to really pull off a solid Iago.
