Failing badly in the polls, a Bolivian presidential candidate enlists the services of an American management team for help. The main star is "Calamity" Jane Bodine (Sandra Bullock), a brilliant strategist who comes out of self-imposed retirement for a chance to beat her professional nemesis, the loathsome Pat Candy. With Candy working for the opposition, it becomes a down-and-dirty, all-out battle between political consultants, where nothing is sacred and winning is all that matters.

Their byplay is electric, the intellectual one-upmanship and flagrant dirty tricks providing much of the comic fuel that makes the movie go, but this is Bullock's show.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

Very good movie, especially for those who enjoy political stories. Idea of March is in my top 5 of all time, and this one while not nearly as good, certainly was reminiscent. Bullock and Mackie give great performances. Billy Bob was on full display.

This is like a TV version of Ides Of March which is a bigger political thriller. This movie has a tension between political slickness and genuine heart - the real tragedy here is that the bad guy wins, but we don't learn the lesson before it's too late. The audience is the butt of the joke at the end, and it's not handled well, so this anticlimax at it's cheapest of shots. I get that the filmmakers wanted to wine and dine us with impressive acting, engaging scenarios, and get us rooting for the underdog played with finesse by Sandra Bullock, but it lacks pay off. It tries to use what it has taught us about the lies and deceit of politics against us with a short twist ending that never satisfies, although it does linger - they doled out that "Gotcha" and yet without showing anything new. They dropped the ball here, and the poor ratings show it. They could have had a small triumph, but missed the final lesson of someone True Blue winning - instead, we only get that cheated slap on the face feeling aka a cheap thrill. Unfulfilling 3.5/5 minimal rating for it.bbutsensefeelingfeeling

This is trying to be a stinging political satire, but it fails to resonate or really even make any kind of impression. Which is a bummer as the heart is there. Bullock is trying her best here, but can't save it by herself.
