Pea K It's a low budget indie movie, written, and starring Guy Birtwhistle who actually gives a pretty good acting performance, far above the norm for these Tubi movies. We follow him around as he tries to males a living selling scavenged alien (well maybe or maybe not) alloys in present day. It is good, but it's a slow burn not an action movie, and (spoiler!!) you do NOT get to see aliens 😒 But I enjoyed the ride and it was a good idea. 👍 This is the opposite of a superhero blockbuster film, but it is shot well, has good clean sound, and well acted. The people who worked on this should go far, and need a bigger studio / and budget. I would say this is in the top 10% of indie films and worth a watch if you want a low key, low action, slightly suspenseful movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/04/25 Full Review Kolo P The film more or less centers around one character and his journey around town to find, sell and retrieve parts of alien technology for expensive buyers. We get a sense of his desperation as he attempts to get a big payoff to set his life on a different course, improve his relationship with his daughter. In this way, the film has the same feeling as Will Smith in The Pursuit of Happyness as we learn more about the backstory of our man in L.A. Being honest, the film slowed down a bit near the mid point but I kept watching and was rewarded, not by CGI or A list star, but by the story and wanting to see where the character ended up. overall a good effort and enjoyable film. Gone are the days when people appreciate good stories, dialogue and backstory (and films are now just something to have in the background while scrolling on your phone) but Our Man in L.A. requires our attention and interest. Well done. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/25 Full Review Steve R Absolutely terrible movie!! no budget, the storyline sucked no good they didn't even have actors in it not even cars driving so bad 🤯 I just don't get why they keep making movies like this I only watch long enough to realize it wasn't going to get better Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Ben W The topic is interesting, I'm sure if there are UFO recovery operations there would be a lot of coercive practices related to it (which is the only praise I can give this film)... I just struggle to believe a random broke dude is so heavily involved and pivotal to the operation. To speak of the films quality, it had the feel of a very low budget. Some of the British accents were either faked or altered for American audiences (I can never get used to a non-northern British person saying can't without pronouncing it carn't). I couldn't finish the film, it was unwatchable. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Wiley C Incomprehensible! Waste of an hour and 10 minutes of my life!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/24 Full Review thomas p It had something that made it watchable all the way through. However, there is no moment where you get to see aliens, which is basically what the movie is about. It kinda goes no where but it keeps you hooked in with great performance by Guy Birtwhistle. He's the whole movie and he's worth watching it for. I feel like I was teased for the whole movie and I got a little gratification at the end but not much.
