David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...it’s fairly apparent that the movie’s success is eventually due almost entirely to Garfield’s exciting, electrifying turn as the impressively villainous antagonist. Rated: 3/4 Jul 9, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews Considering how heavy-handed this routine exploitation crime drama comes across, the final result is not bad for such a rotten film. Bob W Regular working class citizens attempting to defend themselves and fight back against waterfront extortion rackets. Fairly straightforward, until the softened but morally-ambiguous end. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/08/23 Full Review David K Great cast, photography, idea. But, it just kind of hangs there like the writers put it on a shelf to get to later but forgot to. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Good cast let down by an ordinary script and not even the star presence of John Garfield and Ida Lupino can elevate this above mediocre. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Conventional Law Enforcement Won't Do The Job--Drawn to characters on many levels!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I know this film has flaws, but I loved it. Early film noir with Ida Lupino and John Garfield, plus a supporting cast of some of Hollywood's finest character actors. Directed by Anatole Litvak, 'Out of the Fog' has sly humour and a biblical sense of justice. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Minor film with a cast better than the script deserves, wonderfully atmospheric though. One of the rare instances where John Garfield played a throughly despicable character. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
