Victoria Law Bitch Media Filmmaker blair dorosh-walther paints a complex picture which also looks at race, class, sexual orientation, and gender expression. Jan 21, 2021 Full Review Katie Walsh The Playlist "Out in the Night" is a crucially important story that needs to be told and shared with a wide audience, and is a timely tale that fits with the current feminist push back against misogyny and street harassment. Rated: B Aug 24, 2014 Full Review Michael Nordine indieWire 'The media doesn't tell the whole story,' says one interviewee. It's hard to escape the feeling that 'Out in the Night' doesn't either. Rated: C+ Jun 17, 2014 Full Review Aviva Dove-Viebahn Ms. Magazine Throughout the film, dorosh-walther highlights both the women's vulnerability and their strength, while never losing sight of their humanity. Jun 24, 2021 Full Review Sarah Boslaugh Playback:stl ... suggests that the court system as well as the tabloid headlines (which described the women in terms such as a "wolf pack" and "gal gang") got it wrong. Rated: 7/10 Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Brandon Judell CultureCatch 'Out in the Night' is an empowering, troubling, illuminative work and one of the more unforgettable documentaries of 2014. Audience Member It angered me that these 4 lesbians were demonised by the US media as "a gang of lesbians" for simply defending themselves against a violent street harasser. They absolutely deserve to have their stories told. Important lessons to be learned about anti-black racism in the media, misoynoir and homophobia to be had here. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Great presentation!!! I love how the filmmaker went into detail with everything!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/24/18 Full Review Audience Member I personally know these young ladies and what they went through. I'm very proud they were able to showcase to everyone their experiences. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Great documentary...about the inhumanity and [in]tolerance of people Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This film simply shows how gender and sexuality creates classes in our legal system. A group of women were only trying to protect themselves from a predator. The biased media did not tell the whole story - this is why "Out In The Night" is needed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member OK GUYS MY FRIEND RENATA HILL IS FEATURED IN A NEW MOVIE CALLED OUT IN THE NIGHT.......MUST SEE Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
