On the eve of D-Day, American paratroopers drop behind enemy lines to penetrate the walls of a fortified church and destroy a radio transmitter. As the soldiers approach their target, they soon begin to realize that there's more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than a simple military operation. Making their way to an underground lab, the outnumbered men stumble upon a sinister experiment that forces them into a vicious battle against an army of the undead.

Enjoyable...I didn't care about a single character in this movie, and I didn't care who got blown up...I didn't feel invested, but it was action-heavy enough and well-acted enough to appreciate...once it commits, it's really entertaining.

Band of Brothers meets John Carpenter's The Thing. This film is riveting from start to finish, walking the tightrope between action and horror. The character development is a little cliche, but it works well enough; and the cast also did a fantastic job acting their roles.

I'm surprised it has such good reviews, but maybe its just me. I'm old enough to have a good understanding of conditions and practices in the second world war, and the massive inaccuracies are jaring. For example, there were no racially mixed divisions, and no soldiers had long hair or beards. Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers were as accurate as I've seen regarding such things. Also, its is filmed with the style and quality of a cheap weekly TV show. And finally, the writing is bad and the story is stupid. I only watched the first half, so maybe it gets better in the second?
