David Thomson The New Republic Bill Nighy is the hushed engine of the film, just as Rachel Weisz is asked to be the emblem of a vein of decency and commitment that is worth defending. Jun 20, 2013 Full Review Alan Sepinwall HitFix Rated: B Jan 22, 2013 Full Review Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe I felt stuck on the outside, while the characters went through their paces secretly understanding everything that was at stake. Aug 3, 2012 Full Review Tara Thorne The Coast (Halifax, Nova Scotia) For a "spy thriller" there is zero violence, zero running, zero screaming and only minimal double crossing-the whole thing is rather civilized and zingy. Nov 16, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Although it gives off the appearance of homework, Nighy and his fellow performers give Hare's script a thrilling workout, creating significant tension out of the most routine of encounters. acsdoug D The story rests on political intrigue. Rather dull and uninspired intrigue, actually. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Julian P Is there a bad Bill NIghy movie? Probably not. This one is epic. A brilliant semi-true story and the interplay between Nighy and Weisz is impeccable. Great plot, tension all the way and the comedic elements with Gambon, Nighy and Davis are superb. Could watch it twice. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review BARMOUTH B I liked the pace and tone of the film. Bill Nighy fitted like a glove. A little clumsy how Rachel Weisz dropped in but for me it didn't upset the tone. Nice show from Fiennes and Gambon. Flick was a little 2d but Alice Krieg was perfect casting. Nice film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/22/24 Full Review Richard M Excellent acting kept me watching till the end. However, the plot wasn't very believable and for a spy movie the pace was extremely slow. The dialog was a bit unnatural at times, but was somewhat rescued by the great acting. Worth watching if you can't find anything else and need to kill a couple hours. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/02/24 Full Review Jason A Really clunky, unnatural dialogue, a bit painful to watch. Made it through 30min but life is too short to watch stuff like that. Whoever wrote it needs to give up their job and I have no idea what the director was doing. The dialogue timing was weird. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Kandy A Very slow, laboured acting, highly predicable and drawn out. A rather boring movie with a weak story line. A waste of time.
