Steve D 12/23/2023 Loses its way when it gets away from Crawford. See more 01/05/2014 Joan Crawford kind of made a career out of suffering. In this early film of hers she's wrongly sent to prison by a department store owner. When she's release, she seeks revenge by marrying his son, getting their money and ruining their family. There's some good melodrama when Joan tells the rich family patriarch that three years ago he" took her name and gave her a number. Now I have your name!" Sam Wood directed the film, but it's all pretty silly and quite dated. See more 01/03/2014 Tough drama with Joan as a girl with a score to settle. A huge hit in it's day and easy to see why, has many of the components that sustained Crawford pictures for years and she looks amazing in it.
