Audience Member In a general sort of way, I'm not all about slice of life type movies, because I find a lot of them set themselves up to be real stories of real people and they come across as stories of characters. Palace is above that benchmark in my opinion. I actually know one of the actors in the movie, and even watching her playing a character, she comes across as a person who looks like my friend. I actually asked her if this was scripted, because the dialog, interactions, and interpersonal chemistry all feels so natural. There is one scene with one character that the one character felt a little bit wooden, but given the role that character fills, it's an organic wooden-ness, not like that cheap particle board you get nowadays.
