Wendy Ide Observer (UK) Montages, seesawing Dutch tilts and profligate overuse of lighting gels fail to conceal the fact that the film's writing doesn't match the lure of the central idea. Rated: 2/5 Jun 13, 2021 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian It's watchable, but don't expect your mind to be blown - more gently prodded. Rated: 3/5 Jun 7, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News Despite a lame late plot twist, Isaac Ezban's thriller is a rollicking rollercoaster ride. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 31, 2020 Full Review Joel Harley Starburst Tonally, it's muddled, struggling to manage its comedy beats and darker impulses. Still, the performances and Scott Blaszak's to-the-point script make the film easy to like, in spite of its flaws. Rated: 3/5 Jun 22, 2021 Full Review Scott Weinberg Thrillist This clever Canadian indie is part Flatliners, part Butterfly Effect, and smoothly entertaining throughout. Apr 16, 2021 Full Review Alix Turner Ready Steady Cut Parallel is another clever and thought-provoking "what if" story from Mexican director Isaac Ezban. His first English-language feature, Parallel's UK premiere was held at the Frightfest's Halloween event. Rated: 4/5 Feb 2, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

Nicole F The idea was interesting, but the characters lacked of depth. Caricature ike evil Noel, artsy Lea etc, there were big jumps behind events and decisions. Josh dies? No problem lets kidnap an alter version. It was not done smoothly or even masterfully. It had potential to become a good movie, with the right writing and montage, but it hit the mark. It is watchable but dont expect too much. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Jimmy I I had a variety of issues with this film: the first being the technical issue of the character dialogues being barely understandable. Not only did they mumble, but the music was far too loud in comparison, so when music started playing after speech scenes, one had to urn the volume all the way down, and vice versa after musical scenes. The movie had a really cool and interesting plot with a lot of potential, but there were far too many potholes and unexplained concepts. To sum up, don't watch this. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/20/24 Full Review Zyleth B a certified parallel sci-fi classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/15/24 Full Review Voice O The central premise is cool and the idea is really well developed the first half of the movie. Unfortunately the writer deemed it necessary to turn the story into a suspense thriller, introducing a killing that starts the story going downhill. This is a real shame since up to them the theme of getting access to a multiverse offered so many opportunities and for a while it really seemed the story was going to make intelligent use of the idea. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/24 Full Review Robert W This could've been an awesome movie, which is why I watched 90% of it. But in a bad attempt to create plot twists it defies its own logic and slowly gets worse until it becomes dumb. I got to the climax of the movie, threw my hands in the air and literally yelled "I've had enough of this nonsense". Immediately I logged into rotten tomatoes to save 2 hours of your life. Heed my warning and if you didn't read this till it was too late PLEASE TELL ME HOW GOING BACK IN TIME IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE GIVES YOU ACCESS TO FUTURISTIC TECHNOLOGY Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Jeffrey P A decent parallel universe movie that doesn't become entangled in itself. I did find the characters to be a disappointing lot, as everything they did was mostly for selfish reasons that were superficial and without higher aim. The plot stops developing in an interesting way in the back half as things become stagnant and aimless. Also, would have liked to see the opening sequence and those characters play a bigger part rather than what we got in the second half, and the end that leaves the audience hanging.
