Chris Willman Variety Going from thrashy misfit evangelicals to mellow, middle-aged liturgists is still a transition, and a reasonably interesting one, if not as radical a conversion as the... transformation the movie initially sets you up for. May 18, 2019 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter It ultimately has little to offer to the uninitiated and mainly comes across as a sort of promotional video, although its usefulness even in that regard is likely to be limited. May 15, 2019 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...an eye-opening and periodically spellbinding documentary... Rated: 3/4 Aug 28, 2021 Full Review Loren King Loren King The film follows a Behind the Music style as we learn the backstories of the band members that provides a rich texture. Jul 9, 2021 Full Review Benjamin Gummery Indie Mac User Hinton shows a flair for the camera and despite being incredibly close to the story still manages to produce a relatively balanced account and perhaps he is perfectly placed to tell this somewhat unbelievable story. Rated: 4/5 Jul 5, 2021 Full Review Alex Saveliev Film Threat Parallel Love is exactly what it says it is: a slight, diverting story of a band called Luxury, that happens to have some rockin' priests in it. Audience Member A great and compelling story about a great and compelling band. Very well done. I'm a long time fan, but I believe the documentary is so well done that even someone who was unfamiliar with the band would be drawn in. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it wasn't Christian music and the music (and film) was better than I expected it to be. They should have gone mainstream. They would have been successful as a non-Christian band. I will buy their next album and go back and listen to the rest of their music. Now I am intrigued with them.
