      Alec B It has an experimental theater vibe to its weird internal logic. The visceral violence of the ending proves that Ridley wasn't just being strange for its own sake. It's a nightmare commentary on Christian fundamentalism and the death of the nuclear family in modern society. It's one of those films that's going to get richer with each viewing. Unfortunately, Darkly''s (yes, that's his name) love for the beautiful young woman begins to drive him insane once her mute boyfriend returns. Intensely strange and definitely original, The Passion of Darkly Noon delivers a few moments of twistedness but ultimately fails to entirely make up for its somewhat idiotic aesthetic.
