Carolyn Mauricette Cinema Axis Fully embracing its schlocky tropes, while providing an interesting revenge tale, Patchwork is a Franken-woman movie that will satisfy fans of 80's style campy, and gory, horror. May 17, 2019 Full Review Deirdre Crimmins Film Thrills Patchwork brilliantly eschews female stereotypes and instead introduce three interesting, relatable, and complex characters. Aug 20, 2018 Full Review Sarah Ward Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) Rather than serving up an enjoyable ode, everything about this movie earns the descriptor that has been handily placed in its title. eric k For fans of Frankenstein, Re-Animator, and those who love 80s camp, watch this movie. I enjoyed watching this movie for its take on the sewn (back) together (wrong back together) monster story. Check it out, you just might enjoy it too. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Mallory B Hilarious. Patchwork takes a lot of inspiration from 80s camp, but still feels very modern. It's the story of three women who wake up Frankenstein'd together, their bodies and brains joined by some mad scientist after a night they all visited the same bar. It alternates between showing their quest for answers and revenge in the present, and flashing back to reveal how each of them ended up in this situation. I particularly liked how conversations going on between the three women inside their collective head were represented by cutting in scenes of all three actors interacting, so the viewer could get to know them all as individuals and see how they clash as they learn to coordinate their single shared body. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/27/22 Full Review Audience Member This movie was entertaining and well made. The trailer did not do the film justice, only making it much more positive. A thought provoking film with layers and nods to some of the greatest directors of all time. A concept that is certainly its own. Think the ending of Cell (with John Cusack) and combine that with Identity. Truly incredible and I refuse to spoil anything for you. The acting was superb and the plot is phenomenal. It's got the proper amount of laughs, gore and shock factors to make it an honest to God cult classic. It is available on Shudder and Tubi! I cannot stress this enough, you need to see it to believe it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious and entertaining Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member I almost gave up in the first act, and wish I had. good last 3 mins, but that's about it Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/22/20 Full Review Audience Member A very interesting take on the Franken-genre; acting is spot on; living out the revenge fantasies of any woman who has been assaulted or diminished by a caveman.
