Audience Member A one-joke short film. And the joke almost saves it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Of all the live action shorts, I feel that Pentecost embraced and acknowledged both the opportunities and limitations of the short film genre. Pentecost is a comedy, and while it certainly does not attempt any significant depth plot or character development, also maintains a sincerity that prevents it from feeling either sketchy or college filmy. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently, I am the first on here to review this short. This was the first of the 5 oscar nominated live action shorts to air in the showing I was at. It was quite a hilarious piece. It was about a football (soccer) obsessed boy who is about to engage into a cathoic tradition and his preperation for this. The results is about as hilarious as you can imagine while staying entirely tasteful and not anti-semetic in any way. It was well worth it's nomination, although, I do think there may have been better choices out there perhaps.
