steve d The cast is given little to do in this by the numbers flick. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review kevin w Innocent, if hokey, date night movie from the 1950s, wherein a womanizer (Tony Curtis) goes on an arranged date with a bombshell Hollywood starlet ~ with an Army escort on hand (Janet "Psycho" Leigh) to carefully supervise the proceedings. What, oh what, could go wrong? More cute than funny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Fluffy little comedy with appealing cast. It's all so much silliness but deftly done. Bosley Crowther New York Times There is nothing about The Perfect Furlough to warrant superlatives, but there's plenty to keep you giggling. Sep 13, 2022 Full Review P.S. Harrison Harrison's Reports A highly amusing spicy romantic comedy. Sep 13, 2022 Full Review Shadow Stage Photoplay The pace is fast; all the wacky proceedings have a winning air of gaiety; and Tony has himself a ball. Sep 13, 2022 Full Review Jean-Luc Godard Cahiers du Cinéma A very small film, in other words, but it leaves one with one's confidence in Blake Edwards intact. Sep 2, 2021 Full Review Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine Mildly naughty in spots if it's judged by ultra-prim standards, this is a fast and breezy comedy of the sort Hollywood used to produce with gratifying regularity in the 1930s.
