05/13/2011 a midlife-crisis mee pok man... kay tong plays his broken/abusive role a bit too well. but i was totally unprepared for the unnecessary gore at the end. the dialogue (especially selvam's) is quite funny & nostalgia-inducing for those of us who miss singapore. See more 05/11/2011 poor script and direction, but 2 stars to Lim Kay Tong's acting. See more 02/25/2010 Singaporean 'remake' of Taxi Driver, full of violence, swearing, crime and all the other things one never hears about when living there; admirable acting job by the actor playing the relatively fucked up lead character, especially given the poor writing and directing See more 02/04/2010 At times I thought this movie would reach a very high level of film making, but it came up just a little bit short. While the acting was generally very good, some of the scenes were overacted and seemed over the top. Still overall a good movie, particularly when you are frustrated or in a bad mood. It captures that really well. DVD blurb compares it to the Taxi Driver and it has a similar feel to it. See more 11/23/2009 One of the best, if not the best, Singapore movie ever made to me. See more 11/21/2009 I prefer the old Harry in Perth to the young Travis in Taxi Driver. Same plot, slightly tweaked, better directing. Guns are hard to get in most developed countries, but scenes like Perth's machete or Old Boy's hammer are welcome replacements. Singapore pidgin is interesting. If you liked Old Boy and Taxi Driver, you should love this lah. See more Read all reviews
