Genevieve Valentine AV Club There's enough of the all-out V.C. Andrews flavor to make this installment worth a look for those who want to catch up with a family of soap people 30 years in the making. Rated: B- May 27, 2014 Full Review Geoff Berkshire Variety Where Flowers was airless and po-faced, Petals is manic and sudsy, speeding through a treasure trove of sleazy plot twists like CliffsNotes on crack. May 23, 2014 Full Review Joyce Slaton Common Sense Media Soapy, sudsy, and scandalous, this take on the much-beloved (and much-reviled!) V.C. Andrews' book is a lot more fun than Lifetime's previous Flowers in the Attic. Rated: 3/5 May 27, 2014 Full Review Sabienna Bowman TV Equals [Petals on the Wind] commits the deadliest of movie sins: it does not shock, it does not move, it does not provoke...unless yawns count, it is simply a bore. mack d Nice adaptation of the book, decent cast. Surprisingly good for a Lifetime movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member How in the hell are the screenwriters going to *SPOILER ALERT* kill off Paul Sheffield in the opening scene??? His and Cathy's romance was so twisted, so beautiful, so everything. This was such a GIGANTIC part of the story so it made absolutely no sense whatsoever to exclude him. I mean, come on, REALLY? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Another installment in the incestuous saga of the Dollanganger family, one which almost seemed a bit too breezy in the manner in whcih it moved along. I was left feeling as if they could have given me a bit more detail to connect the dots with after the kids finally got out of the attic from the first film. Rental, but obviously recommended for fans of the entire series. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member good sequel to children in the attic. few years on but their experience still haunts the siblings Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member If I could give it zero stars I would.
