Synopsis
When dictator Ferdinand Marcos was removed from power in the Philippines, many in the international community hoped for a flowering of democracy in the country. This sobering documentary dashes such optimism as director Chris Nash captures a nation in chaos. Bands of revolutionaries tout themselves as expressing the will of the Filipino poor, locked in conflict with government-backed groups that fuel an endless cycle of violence.
