David H Great acting, especially by Simone Bucio. There is one surrealistic element, which is that her character grows an erotically-sensitive horse's tail. Stylistically innovative. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Jay Terrible, awful example of German filmmaking. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Joe C This is a beautiful and abstract movie, a story with jarring twists that are offered without explanation. It's also deeply sensual but has none of what most people call sex. The lead actor is marvelously expressive and really encompasses her character. She has only one other film credit and it will be interesting to see her in different roles. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review B P Piaffe is a bizarre and visually stunning experience about a woman's journey into embracing her body rather than fearing it Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I recommend it as a fantasy that touches on some interesting topics. Oct 4, 2023 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times The occasional exposure flares and soundtrack sync pops reminds us this is a movie, but also that we’re watching what’s raw and possible in art and life, that it’s good to be open to wherever images and sounds may take us. Sep 18, 2023 Full Review Drew Gregory Autostraddle This is queer cinema at its queerest, queer cinema at its most exciting. It’s a thought-provoking, discussion-starting, tail-arousing work of art. Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) An erotic coming-of-age film with a little foray into BDSM (with one sequence that somehow manages to visually be as soft and thorny as the red rose featured in it). Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Savina Petkova A Good Movie To Watch Truly one of the most arousing, but minimalistic sequences in contemporary European cinema, to say the least. Rated: 86/100 Nov 7, 2023 Full Review Kathy Fennessy Seattle Film Blog Odd as it may be, the visually and sonically ravishing Piaffe--give or take a little thumping techno--is the opposite of scary or tragic.
