Audience Member Ignoring all other factors, you should watch this film purely for Gong Li's performance. A truly phenomenal actress. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member A sweet and touching film about a deaf boy and his mom. Gong Li is brilliant as ever. All the characters is so genuin and so well played. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful, touching, loving family drama. A mother teaches a deaf and dumb child to speak. The child is learning through strict discpline, but this is because the mother wants the child to be 'normal', sent to a normal school, be seen as a normal kid, have normal friends and be respected, and not seen as 'handicapped'. He conquers his problem by practicing more than a thousand times. He is able to speak but poorly, yet he tries. It is really an excent story. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A simple indie film starring the ever stunning chinese beauty Gong Li, in a very humble role of a divorcee mum, trying to teach her son who has hearing problems. I very simple yet endearing film which I had the privilege of watching. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
