Audience Member Touches your heart and brings a large smile on your face. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie that's all heart, right from the beginning till the end. It's very simple and grounded, yet impactful. This movie is what you would call as a warm hug. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member 'Piku' is a far-from-poop, artful and masterfully made artwork in the form of subtle cinema. Made with flare and conviction, it's a film so well-executed and thrilling, it's a meditative comedy. Shoojit Sircar's heartfelt and at once heartwarming crowdpleaser is a searing example of how a film can be truly uplifted by exceptional performances- though Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan both are in there humorous best here, the real show goes to Deepika Padukone, who not only delivers a career-best performance as the confident and irritable Piku Banerjee, bur also achieves the fest that you feel for her, and just hit her for being so caring for her cantankerous Bengali father. Yes it's not seamless, but only masterpieces are. It's not perfect, but how many films ace to be? It comes too close to be dismissed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrible movie. Almost walked out of the theatre because of all the shouting scenes which nearly shattered my ear drums but since i was there with my MIL and husband i could not. The father daughter characters were extremely unlikable. Also I was completely baffled with the choice of using non bengali actors for bengali roles as if there's a shortage of bengali actors. I'm guessing Indian movie producers think big name stars make up for a weak story and script. I would give this movie zero stars if i could. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member With top notch performance by the whole cast, this movie stands out especially in the genre of light comedy! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A well made comedy drama with good acting. Have to avoid minor editing mistakes. Anupama Chopra Film Companion A delightful film, very little that says so much. Rated: 4/5 Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Mike McCahill Guardian Given the bloated junk currently clogging both Hindi and American mainstreams, such human-sensitive fare provides its own restorative, oddly pleasurable form of release. It slips down nicely. Rated: 3/5 May 18, 2015 Full Review Namrata Joshi Outlook A lot of Piku belongs to writer Juhi Chaturvedi, in her naturally progressive ideas and her ability to see the universal in the particular. Rated: 3/4 May 15, 2015 Full Review Manjusha Radhakrishnan Gulf News (UAE) Watch Piku if you are in the mood to watch a movie that's all heart. There are no larger-than-life heroes, dramatic transformations or neatly-tied endings. Still, Piku works its magic because it steers clear from the usual trappings. Rated: 3/5 Apr 29, 2020 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Piku is a lovely film, which tells a compelling story created out of everyday lives. This doesn't happen too often, so don't miss this one. Jun 6, 2017 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Some sequences bristle with the emotional tension that can result from a self-centred single parent stifling his daughter's dreams, but they quickly dissolve into giggles.
