Steven Oxman Variety The Pilot's Wife is a good example of a book that screams to be made into a TV movie, and then, once made, screams in horror, or at least in embarrassment, at the result. Mar 3, 2019 Full Review John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture ... genuinely literate about everything from marital secrets to the politics of terror, and director Robert Markowitz has painted it all with a palette of bruised grays. Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Caffeinated Clint Moviehole mislaid in a convoy of motionless direction, lacklustre plotting and a dappled, mystifying amalgamation of sequences. nick s There was a lot to like about this movie. The acting was great and many scenes were nicely paced. But taken as a whole the movie lacked focus. People were letting strangers into their homes and lives for plot convenience. The mystery was slowly unfolding until the London girl gave an information dump and wrapped it all up cheaply. Then the ending fizzled. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Mary S I wanted to know what Mattie learns about her brother and sister. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Ronald H The Pilot's Wife is typical, mediocre TV movie fare, with largely indifferent acting (Christine Lahti being the exception) and run-of-the-mill cinematography and direction. But the mystery is good enough to hold your attention, and Lahti, 52 at the time and still as magnetic as ever, turns in a sincere, believable performance. The film is tinted grey to add a somber look, an annoying habit that directors have done to death. But if you can get past that, you can still enjoy Lahti's work. She commits to the part, even though the material is not worthy of her. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/24 Full Review Audience Member Christine is top drawer as always but the script is dramatically weak. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty good for a Lifetime movie. I thought Christine Lahti and Alison Pill did a good job of portraying a mother and daughter full of grief and confusion. Many have rated this poorly but it kept my interest for the full 90 minutes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member well..... the book was good!! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
