During World War II, American pilot Tony Marciano (Fabio Frascaro) is shot down and safely parachutes into the Italian countryside. Tony is fluent in Italian due to his New York City upbringing in an Italian family, and manages to find shelter with Carmine Pantaleo (Cosimo Cinieri), a widowed local farmer who lives with his three daughters. Before long, Tony falls for Cosima (Chiara Torelli), one of the daughters, but her engagement to a rich bachelor considerably complicates their romance.
