An ordinary evening in a small Texas town becomes a grisly nightmare when a horde of flesh-eating zombies goes on the prowl. Cherry (Rose McGowan), a go-go dancer, and Wray (Freddy Rodriguez), her ex-lover, band together with other survivors in a no-holds barred effort to escape the carnage. Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) Won't make any friends outside of B-movie aficionados, and even they might tire of laughing at all the cheapo gore being thrown around. Rated: 2/5 Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times Dire and dunderheaded. Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Andrew Pulver Guardian McGowan is a suitably slinky presence as the lead avenger with a machine gun for a leg; blood and pus regularly fill the screen as Rodriguez lets rip with gleeful abandon. Rated: 3/5 Nov 9, 2007 Full Review Trace Thurman Horror Queers Podcast Gory, sleazy, sexy and disgusting in all the right ways, Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror is a pitch-perfect ode to '70s grindhouse films that never ceases to entertain. Rated: 5/5 Jul 1, 2024 Full Review Joe Lipsett Horror Queers Podcast A clever ode to Grindhouse films of the 60s and 70s, Robert Rodriguez leans heavily into gross-out fratboy humour, but gives all of the best roles to the badass women who survive the apocalypse long after the men have died off. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 26, 2024 Full Review Emiliano Basile EscribiendoCine Planet Terror is pure adrenaline... simple entertainment for fans of these kinds of films that only promised two things: sex and blood. Kenneth L A silly zombie flick that doesn't take itself too seriously and had me smiling the whole time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/23/24 Full Review Jules N Beaucoup trop stylé la jambe mitraillette Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/14/24 Full Review Audience Member I watch this movie at least once per year. The kind of movie you watch at midnight with great snacks. It’s so over the top, violent, trashy, witty, funny guilty pleasure type of movie. There is a rumor that there could be a sequel after all these years and I’m all for it!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Johnathon W Fun tribute to the grind house era of movies thanks to a cast and crew that know the exact kind of movie they are making. The actors are all excellent and having a ball in their balls, especially Freddy Rodriguez as Rey, who makes a credible turn as an action star, while Rose McQowan's Cherry morph's from a damsel in distress to pure badass. Behind the camera, director Robert Rodriguez crafts a fun action/horror film with cheesy effects, hilarious dialogue and over the top action. This a true tribute to grind house movies, with the scratchy film and even missing reel. Just a fun watch from beginning to end that is not just as good as those grind house movies but as good as you remember them. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/24 Full Review KB B I liked it a little better than Death proof but I'd never bother watching it again. Watch if there's nothing else on. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review nick s I hope Willis got a good payday. This is a real b grade horror movie and I don't quite get what it was trying to achieve. I'm sure they had fun making it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Read all reviews
