Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic The movie has its moments (some of the songs are fun, as always), but like Plankton’s efforts at taking over the world, it’s ultimately a disappointment. Rated: 2/5 Mar 8, 2025 Full Review Shawn Edwards Fox 4 Kansas City The premise is actually just zany enough to be fun. Rated: 3/5 Mar 20, 2025 Full Review Cole Groth FandomWire This spinoff perfectly represents SpongeBob SquarePants’ lowly state combined with the weak quality of Netflix’s catalog. Rated: 5/10 Mar 18, 2025 Full Review Mat Brunet AniMat's Review (YouTube) Plankton may not have the secret formula to a great movie, but his love for his wife is just enough to make this visit to Bikini Bottom worth it. Rated: 6/10 Mar 14, 2025 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media This series spin-off has a built-in audience for its beloved characters as well as some positive themes, but the evil robot plot could overwhelm the youngest (and annoy the oldest) audiences. Mar 11, 2025 Full Review John Serba Decider It’s crammed with jokes ranging from stupid-for-their-own-sake to self-aware. Mar 8, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Mary J I can't understand how this movie has a 77% rating; it certainly doesn't deserve such a high score. The humor fell flat, and the callbacks, classic soundtrack, and references felt like an insult to the audience. They explicitly were trying to exploit nostalgia rather than deliver genuine laughs or engaging moments. This movie was supposed to be about plankton, but it features Karen more than it does him. All of his backstory details also do not follow the background between him and Mr. Krabs from the show. It's hard to believe this movie was made by people who've seen the show or worked on it. Also, why is Pearl hanging out with 30-50-year-olds? Lol. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/25 Full Review Gary O This movie feels like Classic SpongeBob, they toned down the over the top facial expression like that in the sandy movie, the plot was actually coherent and surprisingly deep, the songs were all good, and the humor was nice. It’s not perfect obviously, 2004 will always be king, but this movie is on par with if not better than out of water. And even though the 3d animation wasn’t amazing, they made up for it with 3 different animation styles. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/29/25 Full Review Puppies H No buts,it's incredible Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Antonio R Love itttt. Good movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Jonathan O A fun musical SpongeBob i mean plankton and the animation looks fantastic and stylish. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/27/25 Full Review Anna F No le llega a la segunda, ni a la primera, pero es muy divertida y vale la pena ver. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/25 Full Review Read all reviews
