Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Sniffing and licking as he goes, and pausing to rub his face vigorously with bioplastics, the director favors a peripatetic style that staves off boredom but is frustratingly shallow. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 14, 2011 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Disturbing, cautionary documentary that will make you rethink the products with which you surround yourself. Jan 13, 2011 Full Review Ernest Hardy Village Voice A must-see for anyone even remotely interested in the staggering health costs of plastic to humans and the planet itself. Jan 12, 2011 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com The knowledgeable director is clearly trying to take what could be seen as a rather bland topic and make it accessible for a wider audience. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 20, 2020 Full Review Jose Solís PopMatters The film travels aimlessly from country to country and talks with all kinds of experts without ever finding a single unifying theme. This lack of depth in each of the segments makes it easier for skeptical audiences to dismiss his allegations. Rated: 6/10 Sep 19, 2018 Full Review Jennifer Merin About.com You must see this beautifully filmed cautionary tour of plastic-glutted landfills, plastic-strewn deserts and into human arteries where plastic beads compete with platelets for space. thomas a For a documentary with such noble intentions, "Plastic Planet" aims to show how much do we depend our lives on plastic, and the impact it has for the posterity. Too bad the director Werner Boote does not elaborate much on how viable his plans would be for a plastic-less future. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Eye opening, plastic planet indeed. 63% of user liked this? Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A landmark environmental exposure movie which is a must see for high school and university students as well as the general public to wake up and hear the clarion call of the dangers that we are thrusting on our own society today and to come...Werner Boote has created an eye-opening expose of the plastics industry and the dangers being foisted upon us and the environment for generations to come...and simply put we may strangle in our own plastic waste...like Gore's Unconventional Truths...we had better wake up...this film deserves a better rating than 63%...and actually should not be subject to a rating system but should be aired in every community forum out of necessity. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie disturbed me to no end...I don't have any hope mankind fix this problem and don't believe there be any living things on this planet in 500 years. So sad. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Humorous and horrifying. Would like to have a screening to show you. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A must-see if you drink bottled water, use baby bottles, Tupperware, or other plastic products.
