Critics Consensus

Loaded with dazzling action but bereft of purpose, the Point Break remake will be remembered as the first film to make audiences pine for the simultaneous presences of Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey.

Roxana Hadadi Punch Drunk Critics While the stunts are impressive, they lack the impact needed to make Point Break memorable - to make it more than just a misguided mimicry. It ends up being just that. Jeff B I would give it zero stars if possible. What were they thinking? Watch the original, it's still a great film in 2025. Don't f*ck with the classics if you're going to make garbage like this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Aivaras P The movie that changed my life ang gived me eyes opened to find my own purpose. It is not for all. The movie speeks to few. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/25 Full Review Stephen V I feel like people are not giving this movie a little credit. (Don't get me wrong this movie is atrocious), but the whole overarching plot is an interesting one. the stunt scenes were really well made although extremely unrealistic. The worst part about this movie was everything else: the acting, color grading was horrendous, some scenes felt extremely long and unnecessary, numerous plot holes, etc. Overall this movie is very bad, but it is still enjoyable as a stunt show. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/23/25 Full Review SkyRo P "Point Break," the 2015 remake of the classic film, is an example of a movie that simply didn’t need a new version, and it clearly demonstrates why. It raises the question of whether remakes are necessary, or if there's a way to innovate and breathe new life into older franchises without starting from scratch, especially in the age of social media. Sadly, this film missed the mark. The action sequences fell flat, the plot diverged in unappealing ways from the original, and the performances lacked the energy needed to support a successful remake. In the end, the film felt disjointed and failed to capture the essence of its predecessor. Instead of invoking nostalgia, it came across as a forced attempt to recapture the magic of the original, with little regard for what made it special. I cannot recommend it at all. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/17/25 Full Review mark g One of the worst "movies" ever made. No story, no chemistry, just a stupid Mountain Dew commercial. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/12/24 Full Review ARNI S Ugh what a utterly lame movie I completely concur with the audience and the critics. Obviously made for low I.Q. audience's twenty minutes into the thing on Netflix was twenty minutes I'll never get back. Oh wow Whoopi doing a cinematography, you'll need at a sixpack of energy drinks to survive it. I've already waisted to much time giving it a major thumbs down...
